Here is the million dollar question.
Can you *really* find home cooked meals in a resturant? Well, stick around because I have an aswer for you.

My daughter recently had a baby. If you have children, you know how hard it is to prepare a good balanced meal with a newborn around. So, as we were preparing to pick them up from the hopsital, "what's for dinner" was on my mind. I looked up, and it was like God had answered my prayers.

My eyes instantly stuck to the words *soul food* out of everything on the sign.

I thought to myself, yeah- its probably one of those places where the food is premade and they just heat it up real quick. But at this point, I had to make a decision, and quick. I was not in the mood to cook. I was too excited to see the baby!
So, I took a leap of faith and decided to order our meals from Ms. Tonya's Soul Food.
Walking in, I was instantly greeted by the cashier and owner. It was nice to feel welcomed, especially when I was about to spend my money. Excellent customer service is rare these days. It is always refreshing to hear someone cheerfully greet you when you walk into their establishment. Even the cook came out and spoke. Top notch staff!

Needless to say, I had a pretty large order, mostly consisting of turkey legs and sides and grilled pork chops and sides.
I had the grilled pork chops with macaroni and cheese and collard greens. The meal came with cornbread and rice as well (very hefty plate might I add which allowed me to get two servings). Everything looked so good I did not know where to start. Being a starchaholic (Yes, I admit it. I am addicted to starchy foods), I went straight for the mac n cheese. At first bite my response was "I am never cooking again." The mac n cheese was delcicious. My belly did the happy dance.

Next up, the greens and porkchops. All I can say is mmm mm good. These people most defenitely cook becuse they have a love for it, not just becuase they want to make a living. The meat was tender and seasoned perfectly. The greens took me back to my childhood. Yes, this is my final decision. I am never cooking again!

Of course you know I cannot leave out the sweets. They offer these cute little sweet potatoe pies, a perfect serving size for the well disciplined soul. However, for me, yes- you guessed it. I went back for more. The pie was warm, sweet, and hit the spot.

I highly recommend Ms. Tonya's Soul Food and suggest you get on down there as soon as humanly possible and grab you a plate, or two! I also love that they are on facebook and list daily specials so it makes it easy for you to plan ahead.

They have something for every mood...
